Christmas has passed once again. The season is still alive and ongoing, but the big day has taken it’s course. For many, Christmas is not joyful and perhaps my message is for them. We are where we are each moment of each day because of the choices we have made in the past. Whether we find ourselves in the middle of the Christmas season or any other time in our lives.
The thoughts we think, the words we speak, the feelings we feel, all bring us to our destination in each moment of time. Christmas tends to emphasize either the joy of the season or the blues. If you are feeling down at this time, for whatever reason you believe to be the cause, take a moment and find something that feels better from past events in your life-not necessarily Christmas, and begin to believe that you too can once again feel joy.
Having been there a few times in my life, my learning how to re-think those negative moments has been my saviour. I now take each moment and digest those negatives into a better feeling. It matters not where I re-direct my thoughts to, but only that I find a happy, more joyful feeling in the moment. For it starts something in our minds to continue to look for something that feels better. Before you know it, you will be smiling again. Make an effort to detach from what you believe to be the reason for your feelings. Those events are gone and it is only your focus on the disenchantment that continues to put your mind on replay.
Get angry if you must, but not destructive. Vow that you will never be in this place again and decide what you are going to do about fixing yourself to ensure you stay on a path that brings you joy evermore.
Sending love and light!
Until next time….
