Subliminal messaging has been around for about 60 years or so.  While I am not sure who discovered it, I do know that Dr. Jose Silva did a lot of experimenting with it.  I also know that the governments of North America put restrictions on its usage in advertising so as not to falsely con the public.  That in itself was a confirmation that the process works.  The objective of  subliminal messaging in my understanding is to feed information directly to the sub-conscious mind bypassing the conscious mind’s opportunity to question the theory whether good or bad and to avoid any judgment on the subject at hand.

Most people have heard the process or the theory of subliminal messaging.  Controlled subliminals are effective in changing habits and conditioning oneself to grow to the next level whatever that may be for them.  What comes to mind for me is, how many people know they are being messaged every day by the media, work, community, music, television, radio and the internet?  When it comes to understanding our ability to deliberately create the life we want, how much impact do these entities have on our success?  I suggest unless we become more aware of that which we encounter on a day to day basis, we will never know.  The violence and crime programs on the television shows;  many of the “reality shows”; the 6 o’clock and 11 o’clock news broadcasts on both radio and television; the newspapers and magazines selling hype are sending messages to you above and beyond the story.

Scarcity and fear are used to condition you into needing products or services to protect yourself from a mythical threat and the reaction by the public is creating billion  and trillion dollar businesses as a result.  While there is nothing wrong with having a viable business, however, getting the value from false messages is intolerable.  Many business are collapsing as a result of this paradigm and rightfully so.  It is the shift in people’s thinking that is causing a ripple effect and as that ripple grows, the more the remaining businesses will try to justify themselves as the answer to life’s problems by louder and more frequent programs to stay alive.  Commercials are designed to get you to remember the big names the next time you shop, while using sex and hype to draw your attention to them.  Did you notice on the television and radio commercials how much louder they are than the actual show you are watching?  Did you also know that in a one-hour television program there is usually 15 minutes of commercials?  Oh, I have heard it before, if there weren’t any commercials, there would be no time to get up and get something to snack on or drink or go to the washroom.  Did you know the commercials are still working even though you are not paying attention to them?  That’s right!  Going straight to your sub-conscious mind.

There is a need to stay informed to a degree of what is going on around you however, one needs to be careful of the interpretation and internalization of that information.  This topic comes on the heels of my last message where Tony Robbins created along with NBC, the Breakthrough series.  Clearly, the rating statistics showed that people would rather watch some of the shows that would keep them in their state of negative and what I call follower state than to watch something that would provide hope of climbing out of the hole the economy has placed everyone in.  That to me, is indicative of subliminal messaging at work.  Tony’s Breakthrough show was cancelled after only two shows where only 6 million people watched them and got some benefit.  Now, the folks at NBC say they may show them in the fall if they can presumably get more advertising money to show the films.

There is a greater number of people now believing more in themselves than the corporate giants  and governments who have taken us all for granted at one time or another for self-serving purposes would like to see.    Keep the momentum going the next time you shop whether it is television or the retail store, perhaps this message will have an impact of where you place your money.  The way I see it, if the media were to show more good being done and happier people, it will have a like effect on the population and perhaps this doom and gloom would subside enough to make a world of difference in how we look at life.

Your comments are welcome!

Until next time….
